Sacramento trash pickup holiday schedule

Sacramento hasn’t posted a holiday schedule for the rest of 2026; no 2027 schedule was found.

The City's Recycling & Solid Waste pages don't include a holiday collection schedule, and no City source gives a rule for cart pickup on holidays. The City's news site, Sacramento City Express, announced 'City waste collection services will occur as usual' for Memorial Day (May 25, 2026 and May 26, 2025) and Independence Day (Jul 4, 2024), and a Dec 26, 2017 post said Christmas and New Year's Day were regular collection days. The Leaf Season page's 'Crews work rain or shine, including holidays' is about leaf-pile crews, not carts. Before each holiday, check the Collection Calendar (updated daily) or call 311.

No dates to list yet. Check Sacramento’s page before each holiday week.

Cleaning bins in Sacramento?

Bins get cleaned right after pickup, so when a holiday moves trash day, your route moves with it. In Clean Bin System you give each zone its hauler and add the hauler’s holidays once: that week’s cleanings move with the pickup, and each customer gets a text. See how it works
