The City of Long Beach (Energy and Environmental Services, Long Beach Recycles) collects residential trash and organics with City crews, and WM collects recycling under a City contract. All three carts go out on the same weekly collection day, found with the City's Find Your Collection Day map. Pickup runs as normal on every holiday except Christmas and New Year's Day. When either falls on a weekday, that day's pickup and the rest of the week move one day later, ending Saturday. A limited number of City-permitted private haulers serve some properties, mainly businesses and some multifamily buildings.
