The Oklahoma City Utilities Department (Solid Waste Management) runs curbside trash, recycling and bulky waste pickup for more than 220,000 single-family homes, billed on the city utility bill. Under the city's program, WM (Waste Management) collects weekly trash in about two-thirds of the service area and all curbside recycling citywide; city crews collect trash in the rest. Trash is picked up weekly in Big Blue carts and recycling every other week in Big Green carts, on the same day. Routes run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: when a city holiday falls on a Monday or Tuesday route, it's made up Wednesday, and Thursday or Friday routes are made up Saturday.
