How to switch from Jobber to Clean Bin System
Move your bin cleaning customers off Jobber: export clients, add plans and trash days, bring saved cards if your processor allows, and avoid double charges.
For most bin cleaners, moving off Jobber is an afternoon of spreadsheet work, plus some lead time if you want saved cards to come with you. One of the first businesses on Clean Bin System moved 85 customers from Jobber this way: export, format the sheet, import.
The Jobber details below come from its help article on exporting clients, checked October 28, 2026.
Before you start
- Set up your zones and plans first, at the prices your customers pay today, so every customer has somewhere to land.
- Connect your Stripe account. Your customers will pay through it.
- Decide about saved cards today. If you want them to come over, start that step now (below), because it can take a while.
Saved cards: it depends on your processor
Your customers’ saved cards are stored with Jobber Payments, not in your own Stripe account. What you can do depends on the processor behind them.
- If your cards can be transferred to Stripe, ask Jobber support to export your saved card data to Stripe, then request the import from Stripe. When it’s done, Stripe sends a mapping file with each customer’s new Stripe customer ID. Put those IDs in the Stripe customer ID column of your sheet before you import, and each card lands with the right customer.
- Otherwise, ask customers to add a card. When you activate them, everyone without a usable card gets a text and email with a link to add one. You can also let them pay by invoice after each cleaning.
Stripe explains the transfer in its guide to importing payment data from another processor. Processors can take anywhere from a few days to several months to send the data, and Stripe’s import usually finishes within 10 business days after that. Start early, or plan on the add-a-card link.
Step by step
- Export your clients from Jobber. It exports clients as a CSV or vCard file; use CSV. Jobber’s help article says the export is available on select plans and holds up to 1,500 rows per file, so a bigger list comes out in more than one file.
- Format the sheet. Check which columns Jobber’s file has, then add what Clean Bin System schedules from: each customer’s plan, how many bins of each kind, the trash day for each, the last cleaning date, and the Stripe customer ID if their card is coming over. Keep one row per customer.
- Import it. Match each column once, then each plan name to one of your plans. Every row is checked before anything is saved, duplicates are skipped, and anything that can’t be read is listed for you to fix.
- Check zones and trash days. Look over each zone’s customers and their trash days before anyone is activated.
- Run both for one cycle. Imported customers stay off the calendar, and nobody is messaged or charged, until you activate them. Turn off automatic payments in Jobber before you activate here, so nobody is charged twice.
- Activate in batches. Each plan picks up from its last cleaning. Each customer gets one welcome message, or the link to add a card.
What comes over, and what stays in Jobber
What our import can take, if your sheet has it: names, contact details, text opt-in, address, gate code, access notes, trash hauler, plan, bins and trash day for each bin type, last cleaning date, week of the month, account credit, Stripe customer ID, tags and how they heard about you.
What stays in Jobber: past invoices, job photos and message history. Download anything you need to keep before you cancel.
The text to send customers
Send it a few days before you switch, because the next messages will come from your new texting number:
Example: Hi {first name}, it’s {your business}. Next week we’re moving to a new booking system. Your plan, price and cleaning days stay the same. You’ll get a text from our new number, {new number}, with a link to your account. Questions? Just reply.
FAQ
Will my customers have to sign up again?
No. They’re imported with their plan, bins and trash day, and keep their place in your schedule. They can sign in to their account with a link sent by text or email.
Will anyone be charged twice?
Not if you turn off automatic payments in Jobber before you activate customers here. Run both side by side for one cycle, then switch on a date you pick.
What if my cards can’t be moved to Stripe?
Then each customer without a usable card gets a text and email with a link to add one when you activate them. Or let them pay by invoice after each cleaning.
How long does the switch take?
The spreadsheet work usually fits in an afternoon for a few hundred customers. Moving saved cards takes longer: processors can take days to months to send the data, and Stripe’s import usually takes up to 10 business days after that.
